While vehicles are constantly changing, our concern for safety on the road remains the same. Here at KW Auto Body, we’re constantly reminded of the distractions that make their way into vehicles – you name it, we’ve heard it. Below are three reminders for the road that every driver needs to hear.
1. RELAX
According to SafeMotorist.com, two thirds of all traffic fatalities are due to road rage. The bottom line is that aggressive driving is never the answer, no matter how late you may be or how annoying the driver next to you is. Our KW Auto Body team urges you to take it from the repair experts – relax on the road and choose to drive responsibly.
2. WAIT
Cell phones, billboards, pets, passengers – distractions are everywhere, and to be honest, sometimes it can get a little overwhelming. Be sure to turn on the “Do Not Disturb” feature on your phone. This notifies whomever may be trying to get a hold of you that you are behind the wheel and unavailable. While most people deem drive-texting a no brainer, we’d like to stress that any sort of phone contact puts you and others at risk. Many are guilty for both eating and putting on make-up while driving. Sure, it would save you a couple of minutes, but no amount of time can bring you total safety. We hope you will choose to keep your eyes peeled, your hands available and your mind on the drive. Whatever the distraction is, it can wait.
3. NEVER DRIVE UNDER THE INFLUENCE
One person dies every 50 minutes due to drunk-driving crashes – that’s roughly 30 people every single day. Don’t make the mistake of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Uber and Lyft are just two of the many rideshare apps available to drivers who don’t feel comfortable being on the road. Commit to remaining sober when behind the wheel.
No matter where the road takes you, our professionals here at KW Auto Body ask that you keep the safety of you and those around you at the top of your priority list. When things get bumpy with you and your vehicle never hesitate to give us a call – we’re always here to help.
