3 Springtime Tips For Your Ride

Spring has officially sprung, and while the weather in Hawaii is generally perfect, we do get the occasional rainstorm. Well people, we’re looking at clear skies, lengthened days, and solid 80 degree temps these next few months. Bust out your microfiber cloths and ride along with us as we go over 3 tips to keep your car gleaming through the spring.

Pro tip when it comes to keeping your vehicle lookin’ fly — dirty fabrics will make your vehicle appear years older than it really is. The elements, food, and children all play a part when it comes to dirtying up those seats. Lucky for us, this tidy tip requires nothing but a few minutes and a little bit of elbow grease. First, vacuum every little nook and cranny, including under the floor-mats. We don’t want any loose dirt to be buffed further into any material. Whip out a multipurpose fabric cleaner of your choosing and a towel (that you don’t mind getting dirty, of course) and get to scrubbing.

When it comes to cleaning your dash, be wary of any household cleaner. Invest in dashboard cleaning wipes or even a wet microfiber cloth. Be sure to hit all points of the dash, the center console, cup holders, steering wheel, shift stick, and even the inside door pockets. This two-minute task will not only leave the inside of your vehicle smelling fresh, but looking sharp too.

With Hawaii’s rainy months come the wind, and with the wind comes the salt! It’s always a smart idea to wipe your car off after a big storm. Salt build up can lead to an accelerated rust build up, both of which are not good for your vehicle. We recommend applying a coat of wax 2-3 times a season to help protect your cars finish from the elements. Apply your wax of choice in small sections at a time. Wipe away any dried wax residue with a microfiber cloth and bada-bing-bada-boom — your car is both protected and looks like new!

We hope these tips come in handy as spring continues and summer rolls around. We do our best to make sure your vehicle is looking dapper at all times. Don’t hesitate to give us a buzz if ever your car is in need of a facelift. We’re here to take the stress out of the process and get your back on the road.
